The year of the veggie garden

Part of my New Years resolution was to start a vegie patch. As a renter I had always found some excuse not to start.  But not this year. This is the year of the veggie garden.

Start small was my plan, but as I graced the aisles my taste buds and nose filled my basket with passionfruit, eggplant, butter beans, capsicum, cos lettuce, rocket, tomato, corriander, basil and parsley and not enough organic potting mix (not soil, nooo). My practical hubby did what any new father would do, he constructed three planter boxes from unloved pellets.

So after two months of indulgent caterpillars and foraging possums, too much sun, not enough sun and heavy rains. We are reaping the rewards from our modest little veggie patch.
